Optometry

The Diploma in Optometry (DOPT), Singapore’s first optometry course, is the first to be accredited by the Optometrists and Opticians Board since 2007. This course trains you to diagnose and manage eye conditions, fit glasses and contact lenses including myopia control methods like Orthokeratology. From Year 1, you’ll gain hands-on experience at Singapore’s largest in-house Optometry Centre. Through work-based learning, you’ll manage real patients under supervision of qualified optometrists, using state-of-the-art technology in clinical examination. The course also features regular industry attachments, a 22-week internship (including opportunity for overseas internship), and overseas study trips. You’ll also take part in community vision screenings alongside other allied health professionals—broadening your exposure and professional network in real-world settings.
