Parents, students, coaches and supporters,

1. Good evening everyone. Thank you for inviting me to tonight's football match. This is my first time watching a live football match. It was very exciting.

2. To the players who were on the pitch just now, thank you for playing and running your hearts out, and giving us a wonderful match to watch.

3. Now, football, like many sport, teaches us a lot about life, and many of you who play football on a regular basis will know what I mean. No matter what your backgrounds are, what you do in school or at home, when you attend trainings, or when you come down for a game, you set all of that at the back of your head and fully enjoy yourselves. I hope that no matter where all of you go in the future, what schools you go to, or what careers you have, remember the good times you have had with your teams and teammates. I hope that you find such joy in future as well.

4. I was sharing with some of our friends here that many of you may not remember the matches that you win, but you will remember the matches that you have lost, especially if it had been a close match. You will keep the lessons with you, and I hope that all of these lessons will bring you forward in a much better way in future. So to all of you who are continuing to play this year and in the coming years, I wish you all the best.

5. And to the team, Serangoon Samba, congratulations on your fantastic victory tonight! Next year, the pressure will be on you to retain the crown. To all the organisers, partners, coaches in particular, who have spent many hours with the players, a big thank you to all of you too. Do continue to mentor them, to teach them life lessons and to let them know that there is always someone stronger, trustworthy, standing behind them.
