ASEAN Scholarship

Students from ASEAN countries can apply for the ASEAN Scholarship to study in Singapore. Find out if you are eligible and how to apply.

Overview

The special education (SPED) schools are run by social service agencies and fully funded by the government and community. They provide customised learning support for children with higher support needs. If you have a strong interest to guide these children and youths to achieve their potential in “Living, Learning and Working”, consider becoming a SPED teacher.

As a SPED teacher, you will:

  • Design and customise teaching and learning to support these children and youths in collaboration with their families and community agencies.
  • Grow professionally through training and other learning opportunities so as to grow your craft as a SPED teacher.
  • Partner closely with allied professionals and teacher aides to provide quality educational experiences for students.

Brunei

This ASEAN Scholarship is for students from Brunei joining Secondary 1, Secondary 3 or Pre-university 1 in selected Singapore secondary schools or junior colleges.

This ASEAN Scholarship is for students from Cambodia joining Secondary 3 in selected Singapore secondary schools.

This ASEAN Scholarship is for students from Indonesia joining Secondary 1 or Secondary 3 in selected Singapore secondary schools.

Primary 1 (P1) registration

If your child is due to enter Primary 1 (P1), you are strongly encouraged to register your child while abroad during the P1 registration process. You can then apply for a LOA for your child so they can keep their place at that school. Admission is for the next academic year.

Assured School Placement (ASP)

We will guarantee your child a place at a school with vacancies as near as your residence as possible. The level and class for your child will be determined after the school-based tests and/or interview. For admission in the same academic year, submit the application by the first week of September.
